| Weekly Quick Asks Thread - June 05, 2022 Posted: 05 Jun 2022 02:00 AM PDT Here is the place to post questions about pest ID, coral/fish ID, your cycle, or any other questions that generally wouldn't start up a conversation. If you have an interesting or unique question please create a new thread so everyone can discuss it in length! These are some great resources for ID's of pests/algae. [link] [comments] | ||

| Open brain coral bleaching. What can I do to save it? Posted: 05 Jun 2022 11:33 AM PDT I've had an open brain for about a year now with no issues. Recently, about 2 weeks ago, I noticed it starting to lose its color. It's still very fleshy, but I've noticed it has stopped taking in food. Water chemistry is good, although my calcium may be low but I'm waiting on a new test kit. Nitrate is low (1-5ppm), phosphate about the same. Alkalinity is 9dKH, magnesium is around 1200ppm. I recently did a water change, 20 gallons on a 90 gallon tank. Everything is doing really well except the brain. I turned down my lights (LED Viparspectra) by a few notches and repositioned the coral. Tried feeding reef roid paste, but it didn't seem to accept it. What can I do to save it?
