Need to get rid of planted tank, what do I do with my snails?

Posted: 02 Jun 2022 09:32 AM PDT

hello everyone! as much as it pains me, i need to get rid of the planted tank i've been caring for. my ex gave it to me about a year ago and she recently (like 2 months ago) broke up with me and then my betta, who was living in there, died. so, it's a little too much for me to care for it now. i just have no clue what to do with the snails living in there. does anyone have any suggestions?

Good plants for a sand substrate?

Posted: 02 Jun 2022 09:11 AM PDT

What plants could I successfully grow in a 20 long with a sand substrate and daily liquid fertilizer dosing? I have a beamswork 6500k 40 watt light. Current setup is a Walstad style substrate but am tired of battling algae blooms.

My mother's tank I've been helping build, she only realized she picked a bunch of silver fish after the fact

Why do some of my plants look so bad?

Posted: 02 Jun 2022 10:59 AM PDT

What kind of algae is this? The plant seems to have come with it, as nothing else in the tank has it.

Canadians: found a new (to me) plant seller. Impressed! NOT affiliated.

Posted: 02 Jun 2022 08:45 AM PDT

So I wanted to see what's up with Etsy plant sellers. Ended up here (link below) and got the "high tech 10 pack". They included the rare plants they sell as well, which I was not expecting. I got the pack on sale - I feel almost like I robbed them a bit. Seller is responsive and honest about growing conditions (emerged/submerged/transitioning). Oh also, shipped next day and arrived in next day.

Anyway, just thought I'd share! Also FYI: looks like seller is away til mid-June.
