Posted: 17 Oct 2021 07:36 PM PDT I was planning to do a cherry shrimp tank and I used top soil as the base layer and capped it off with sand. After doing this I found mixed opinions on this but did not find a clear answer. Will this be okay? [link] [comments]

How often should I be changing water? Posted: 18 Oct 2021 12:47 AM PDT Hi! I have a community 10g tank with about 5 guppies and 15 cherry shrimp. Mostly plastic plants but I have a small plant and a decent amount of moss. How frequently should I change my water? Should I do 30% once a week or would I be better off doing a few 10% throughout the week? Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Oct 2021 12:31 AM PDT Recently bought a little 13.5L (3.5G) tank I want to set up for some low grade/wild cherry shrimp. I don't want to use a filter. Would I be able to just use sand and hair grass and be okay? I don't mind if the grass grows incredibly slowly. I just want to have a passive shrimp colony that I don't need to think about. Posted: 17 Oct 2021 01:55 PM PDT My tank is a year old and I've never had any issues before. I've not changed anything in the tank or changed the food. I regularly use test strips to check the water parameters. However, within 2 days I had 5 shrimp due suddenly. I took my water to my local aquarium for them to do an in-depth test and they said the water is fine. I'm not sure what's happened because I haven't changed anything and the shrimp that died were only 6 months old and born in the tank [link] [comments]
