I would like to have a jar aquarium with a shrimp, some snails and some plants. I have been watching a lot of videos about keeping aquariums but they never put in all the information I need, most of them seem to be top 10 lists or just tips but I have absolutely 0 knowledge about aquariums so I need something more in depth. I want to get prepared properly before starting this aquarium because I don't want to buy stuff, not know how to take care of my plants and animals, and just end up having a dead water tank..

I would really appreciate some help going over the basics : do I need a filter? How do i make sure the temperature is ok for my shrimp and plants? How do i maintain my plants properly?
