- I've had the white one since 2011 and the smaller one is from a few years ago. I know my tank is too small and I'm saving up for a bigger set up. Is it normal for them to sit still like this? They do this until feeding time, and that's when they start swimming around and digging through the rocks.
- Help !! Murky water. It's been like this for more than one week, I cleaned the tank and the filter, turned off the lighting but the water still murky. What should I do ?
- New to this fish world...just done a test strip...are these stats OK or way off ? TIA ...advice appreciated.
- Growth keeps getting bigger. Well established tank with other very healthy fish. Bi-weekly 20 gallon water exchanges with gravel cleaning. Water is good apart from very hard but thats pretty normal for chicago. 55 gallon with Eheim 350 that gets cleaned every 3rd water exchange.
- Fin regrowth rate
- Almost all my fish died of this, what is it and what can I do to prevent it?
- Is this ich and how can I treat this?
- Changing Tanks
- Goldfish sick everytime (about twice a month) Does anyone knows whats happening?
- Help with goldfish. I thought this fish was pregnant, but it’s been this way for 3 months. I’ve researched and doesn’t look like dropsy because it’s not pine coning. It is in an outdoor pond.

Posted: 11 Oct 2021 01:48 PM PDT Hey all! I have a sweet lil oranda baby from Goldfish Island that was pretty badly beat up either before or during shipping (the others I had sent to me had some snapped/folded fins but no ripping/loss of tissue) so I have to imagine the bulk of the damage happened before shipping...) one side of her caudal fin has a torn flap hanging out of it, she has a huge chunk taken entirely out the middle of her dorsal fin and her anal fins are almost entirely gone -- no fin spines left or anything. Looks like they all may have some minor ich, but beyond that she seems pretty healthy. They're all being treated in quarantine tanks so I'm hoping to see improvement soon, but I wanted to ask: About how long should I expect it to take before seeing substantial fin regrowth? Posted: 11 Oct 2021 11:32 AM PDT Hello, I am planning on moving my goldfish I've had for at least two years from a five gallon to a ten gallon tank. I am away at college right now about 100 miles from my home, and went home this past weekend and checked parameters and did a 50% water change (water had not been changed in at least two months). Fish seemed to be behaving normally, no abnormal behavior that I could see. Parameters: API FRESHWATER MASTER TEST KIT PH - 7.0 AMMONIA - 0-0.25 NITRITES - 0 NITRATES - ~100 I am well aware of everything that I am doing is wrong. I know the minimum size tank for a goldfish is 20 gallons, I know that I shouldn't have a fish if I'm not around to take care of it, so let me preface this by saying my sister bought this fish on a whim and has neglected it. Current Tank Set Up: 5 gallon tank, no filter, multi-colored gravel, three artificial plants, one rock hide, flake diet. This set up has not changed over the past year. Tank I Want To Set Up: 10 gallon tank (formally home to my beta that recently passed), tetra whisper filter, white sand, new decorations (including three new artificial plants and a new rock hide), a thermometer, and a sinkable pellet diet. The tank was recently completely cleaned out and has not been cycled. tl;dr: I need advice on how or if I should be making the change and when I should make the change. My main worries are about stressing or shocking the fish. [link] [comments] | ||
