Koi in Hiroshima. Also, little turtle who thinks he’s a fish.

My fish looks like it has something growing over its eyes, almost like scaly cateracts. I just brought him inside yesterday from a pond to winter in an aquarium. Is this something I should be worried about? I did my best to get it in a video (photos didn't work so great) Any help is appreciated.

My fiancé and I rescued these 2 from a carnival. I know the tank is too small. They will eventually go into a pond that we have. My only question is about the dark spots showing up on the white one. It wasn’t like this when we got it. Is it just color coming out or is it something else? Thanks.

Tips For Calming Down Stressed Koi

Posted: 09 Oct 2021 06:42 AM PDT

Hi, it's me again. So, the koi I posted on here earlier has always had anxiety issues (when I first got them they would hide all the time, far more than any other koi I've owned have when introduced), I suspect they were bullied or injured by something in the pet shop as they had a torn dorsal and tail fin when I got them and were cowering away from the other fish in a corner.

Despite their issues though, recently they've gotten incredibly friendly and always swim up to me when I go near the pond, but today they've been hiding and seem stressed as they haven't come up to me and tend to just be sitting still with the other fish when they're normally very active (This could be due to it getting colder though.)

The water parameters are fine and quite stable. (0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and around 20 nitrates and the ph stays around 6.5)

I think the reason behind this is because a bird got stuck under the pond net yesterday (not a predatory bird, a greenfinch.), and because they already have anxiety issues and possible trauma it made them very stressed to have a foreign creature going into their territory. (None of the other fish are bothered, hence why I think it's to do with their anxiety.)

I want to know if there are any ways to help them calm down, and how long I should expect them to be hiding and stressed for. I am a bit worried as well because I know stress is VERY harmful to koi and can lead them to develop serious illnesses.
TLDR: Generally anxious koi has been acting way more nervously and hiding since a bird got stuck in the net and I want to know how to help reduce their stress and if it'll go away on its own.
