The tank has been running for about a year now. Have only done about 8 water changes in that time span!

Hi all,

Im attempting the dry start method with the mini leaf seeds for my aquarium and Its day 5 after seeding and I notice these white string-ish things growing from my plants. Is this mould? or the roots of the mini leaf clumped together? or anything harmful?

Help needed deciding on a new fish. Norman's Lampeye or Neon Blue Rasbora? Something else???

Posted: 09 Jun 2021 05:39 AM PDT

I'm looking for a new school of fish for my pond style / paludarium tank after moving my ricefish to my patio pond. I have grasses growing out of the water, driftwood shooting out, ferns near the surface, and floaters. Ideally, I want something that'll hang out in this stuff. Tank is a 20 gallon with a 24" x 15" (60cm x 38cm) footprint and holds about 10 gallons of water after accounting for all the hardscape.

I'm also keeping sparkling gourami, pygmy cories, and neocaridina in the tank.

I've kept chili rasboras, CPDs, pea puffers, and bumblebee gobies before, so I want to try something new that's not super common. Two choices I've narrowed it to are Norman's Lampeye Killis and Neon Blue Rasboras.

So, give me your experiences with these fish to help me decide! I'm also willing to consider wildcard suggestions.

Currently having an algae issue and am on day 2 of a blackout. Will this blackout kill the algae that is ON my plants? Or am I gonna need to scrub it off?
