Urgent, orandas floating in the same spots on bottom of tank

Posted: 13 Jun 2021 09:09 AM PDT

My tank is experiencing a pretty bad algae bloom right now, I've tried almost everything it feels like, but I just put some Purigen in my HOB filter and I'm seeing how this goes. Algaefix is doing nothing. It's been going on for at least 2 weeks now and it just keeps getting worse. I've been doing very frequent water changes (every 2 or 3 days) and nothing. I've been monitoring the water parameters and testing them every day, no ammonia, normal nitrates, etc.

They have been less active than usual but today it's been concerning me a lot. My son Toast has been in the same spot all morning just sitting there at the bottom of the tank, he's breathing and I can see his eyes looking around a bit, but nothing otherwise. He did swim up to the top briefly, but went right back down. My other oranda, Goose is not completely on the bottom like Toast is, and he moves his body a little, but he's also lethargic. Is this because the water is so green that they are stressed and don't wanna move? It's also pretty warm in my state right now, could that be a factor?

Can more than one fancy goldfish fit in a 30 gallon tank?

I'll be getting a 30 gallon tank soon and I'm considering getting goldfish to put in it. Black moors are my favorites, and I'd like to get more than one because I've heard they're social animals. Can two fancy goldfish live happily in a 30 gallon tank?

Cataracts? This fish has survived a bad case of pop eye around 1 and a half - 2 years ago. After that, this white ball appeared in her eye. Is it a cataract? She is otherwise healthy and active.

Larry, my 17+ yo goldfish. He likes being talked to every day and being around people. He also eats his roommates.
