Got this guy months ago from a tank full of swordtails nipping at him and stressing him out, today in the scorching heat which i thought was going to negatively effect him he decided to make bubbles!

Put a mirror by his tank to see if i could get him to flair so I could check all his fins properly. He saw him self then hid in his log. Poor baby will i not do that again. (It was the first time doing it) little sweetheart.

I’m fostering this betta for a month and have no experience with fish. I’m pretty sure his setup is AWFUL and he doesn’t seem to be doing well. Do you guys have any suggestions for care and setups? I want to send him off with a better home!

Goodbye little fishy

I lost my little fishy this past weekend. I'd been trying to save the poor thing since last year and tried so many things, but nothing was working. Eventually, fishy stopped making bubble nests and got dropsy and was clearly not enjoying life at all anymore. I got myself some clove oil, and fed them some brine shrimp as a last meal, and well, you know the rest. It wasn't easy.

The next day I grabbed some flowers and dropped fishy off of a pier by a sail ship I walk by every day. There were tears as I watched fishy sink into the darkness of the water. It's always hard to lose an animal that you care about, and only gets slightly easier every time. At least fishy was no longer suffering.
