Hello i literally made reddit just for this because i am a nervous snail mom! I am basically going to be explaining EVERYTHING, so this is going to be quite long. Ok so...

I just set up my first ever planted tank. 10 gallons. Bought some baby mystery snails. They all died within the first week , i think its because i didnt follow the instructions properly when putting in some seachem stability and prime.

I don't have a light, so all my plants are dying. I don't have a filter because i was aiming for a filter-less tank. I only have a heater.

I kind of abandon it for about a month, went to check, whoa! A random snail appeared! It has a black shell with orange/yellow spots and swirls.

Okay, oh god. I gotta make sure this one doesnt die. Fast forward few weeks of just letting it eat the dead plants, putting an algae wafer like once a week just so it doesnt go hungry?? In any case?? It says to remove it if it doest get eaten in like 5 mins, but so far i never removed it, it just kinda gets mushy in the water, snail eats it anyway (once it finally manages to find it after like 3 days)

I have not done a water change and its been like 2 months. Ive only added water that i left overnight after putting the seachem stuff when the water in the tank has reduced a bit from evaporation. I dont have a siphon, gravel vacuum, anything. Theres a lot of dirt and muck on the plants and rocks, water is still clear, snail is still very active and (hopefully) happy.

Queue this morning, there are suddenly a lot of baby snails under the water surface!!! (Sometimes the snail also does this, like, walk under the water surface)

And that is where i'm currently at. Now the question is, where do i go from here to make sure the tank is in good condition?? What are the essential things i need to buy, what are optional. I wish to continue making it filter-less if possible. So many questions!! Help!!

Are they mating?? Or is one of them dead or something??? I don't want to disturb in case it's the former... (please excuse the bloom, I recently added some fish)

Is My Nerite Snail Dead or Dying?

My nerite snail (Orion) has been acting strange. Yesterday I thought he was dead as he was laying at the bottom of the tank and was somewhat out of his shell. I took him out, touched him a bit, and placed him back in. He soon came out and wandered around. Last night I noticed he was doing it again, and he hasn't moved in about 18-20 hours. I've had him for almost a year.
