Let's play spot the snail lol ... took me a good 5 minutes to find "houdini" this morning (he and his buddy along with a mystery snail moved in 3 days ago)

How much bigger is this guy (or girl) gonna get? I've had it for almost a month now, and it's 4x the size it was.

If I have 6 mystery snails can I have them live in a 20 gallon with a group of schooling fish for instance some rasboras, ember tetras or endlers. If so how many can I have??

So I have a 4 gallon betta tank and I had a snail in it. I saw him last night before I went to bed but now I can't find him. What happened to him?

Started a new tank, used some media from the old tank, when is it safe to add my mystery snail?

Posted: 31 May 2021 01:45 PM PDT

I started a new 5g tank for my mystery snail, who is currently in a 2.5g tank. I wanted him to have more space, and since I'm new to the whole tank thing I figured this was a good chance to experiment.

The new tank has a sand substrate (with root tabs for a couple of the plants), some ferns and other plants, and I put some clay pebble biomedia into the filter to help with the cycle. I've read that this accelerates the cycle, and even that it's an "instant" cycle but wasn't sure about that. I've added Seachem Stability twice now (last night and this morning) and some Flourish for the rhizome plants.

Parameters are: KH=3, GH=4, pH=7.6, HRpH=7.4, ammonia 0.25ppm, nitrates and nitrites 0ppm. I know the water will need to be harder, and I have wondershells to add. I was just wondering when I can safely move the snail.

Help identifying this snail? It's a saltwater snail of some kind.
