Just found these 'Koi Cards' at my local garden centre! I've been eager to improve my knowledge on the names too

Just Mail Ordered for the First Time and They are Great!

Needed a gift for my girlfriend's father. Found this site which is part of a very reputable breeder in North Carolina: http://www.bestkoidirectbkd.com

Pics of each individual fish, flat $50 overnight shipping to us in San Francisco, and the family that owns the business were super helpful!

I bought three and they are doing great! I know this isn't a review site but when it comes to communities like this and animal health, it felt wrong not to share my experience with a breeder that cares. I'll add some videos in a minute.

We got a Sanke, Showa, and a Karasu (for good luck of course!)

Koi feeding Q

Posted: 23 Jun 2021 04:45 PM PDT

We have about 5-7 large koi, they're like 12-14" each

They don't eat much!

We've been following the rule to feed them and wait 5 minutes to see what they consume. We give them just a handful of pellets and they hardly touch it, it's the same food the previous owners used so there's no change to their diet.

They've been eating and destroying the lily pads that have been growing in their pond for ages.

Now it's getting hot out and I know they need more food, what am I doing wrong??
