Help Me Sex This Shrimp??

Is my shrimp ok? Is this normal shrimp behaviour? It keeps swimming around to the surface, a few others are also doing this.

I’m a Grandmother!!!

My mama shrimp had her babies!! At least, I think she did... she was pregnant a few days ago, went into hiding, and now she's not pregnant! I have a heavily planted tank, so it's pretty common for my shrimp to disappear for a day or two.

How long will it be until I start seeing the babies around? What should I look for? Any hiding spots in particular where I might see babies?

I have a bunch of plants, a sponge filter, some driftwood, some moss... I'm so excited, I can't wait to see one!!!

Flow requirements for a breeder box?

Posted: 21 Apr 2021 01:07 AM PDT

So I have one of these breeder boxes: https://www.leemarpet.com/product/breeding-isolation-equipment/280994-13190/lees-3-way-breeding-tank.html. I've got 1 male and 3 female sunkist neos in there with all of the dividers removed, and I'm wondering whether I should add some flow or a bubbler or something? It looks like they're trying to escape through the slots instead of looking for food...not sure if they're just excited though. The capacity of the box is about 0.5-1L as far as I can guess since it's a weird shape. I thought that would be plenty for just 4 of them but they are obsessed with trying to escape lol. Not a whole lot of flow in the tank they're sitting in, which is an established neo breeding setup.

2.) A filter you recommend

3.) Substrate (What I should have in the bottom)

Add males for competition/genetic diversity?

Posted: 20 Apr 2021 10:29 AM PDT

Hi all,

Odd question, but I have a single male and 9 female cherry shrimp.

I noticed the male swimming like crazy for two days and it turns out he's an absolute player since I now have 7 berried females.

Should I add in another male so he doesn't wear himself out and to add some genetic diversity?

How many generations before I add more in?
