People talk about their morphed axolotls meanwhile my axolotl evolved into a bi-ped.

Wood question

Posted: 02 Apr 2021 07:49 AM PDT

So I haven't gotten an axolotl yet. But I do have a successful fish tank that I've used wood from an apple tree in. Would that be safe for an axolotl? Or would it be dangerous for them?

What is the best filter for my little guy?

Posted: 01 Apr 2021 06:34 PM PDT

I currently have a small sponge filter but I noticed that the water is getting very cloudy very fast. What do you all use?

My axolotl sits on filter after removing sand

Posted: 01 Apr 2021 02:34 PM PDT

Hey guys! So, on Monday I decided to remove all the sand from my axolotl tank because there was a lot of debris that had accumulated there over time and it was making the water cloudy and smelly and I just had it with the constant water changes (yes my tank is cycled and yes my parameters are always pristine) and decided to go bare bottom. Since then my little guy seems to be hanging a lot on the filter ( I have a fluval u2 internal filter which is placed horizontically on the upper part of the tank so I can save space). He doesn't seem to exhibit any other signs of stress but he hangs a lot on there now. Like the floor is lava! He abandoned his previous favourite spot, which was inside the dinosaur skull decoration and I imagine it is because of the lack of sand. Should I be worried that he seems to not enjoy the bare bottom? Do you have any similar experiences? Thank you in advance!
