Hi everyone, I am a kid and have done some research so I can get an axolotl, just looking for info that might be more obscure, thanks. (More info below)

I am getting a 29 gallon tank with no light, I am also getting an air pump and filter. Lastly I will get some sort of hide or cave, plants, and fine sand for the bottom. Then I plan to do a fish less cycle and get the axolotl when it is done.

Axolotl wont eat

Posted: 18 Apr 2021 09:52 AM PDT

Hello!

One of my girls is refusing to eat and I cant figure out why, I was hoping some one else might have an idea or Something I can do to try to get her to eat.So I have listed a bunch of info regarding their care.

She typically lives in a 40 gallon breeder with her sister, the parameters before I tubbed her were A-0 Ni-0 and Nitrate was under 10pp.,ph 7.4, temp is always 16-17 degrees, She has no apparent injuries and no fungus and her sister is eating fine. her tank is substrate free and nothing in there comes even close to being able to fit in their mouths. They eat Canadian night crawlers and pellets, every once in awhile I give a blood worm treat. I use seachem prime and am doing 100% daily water changes on her tub and have added IAL an air stone and a hide (temp matched and tap parameters are fine I checked) My other tank which I use all the same supplies and food on is doing fine as well as her sister that is in the same tank.

She hasn't eaten in almost a week, she looks a touch skinnier, she has been chunky(but not to big) since I recued her almost a year ago. her tail is not curling and her gils look fine, visibly she looks fine, I just can not figure out why she wont eat.

Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated because at this point I'm at kind of a loss she is usually my hungry girl and now she wont eat at all.
