Today my shrimp made me cry

I used to have a vampire shrimp. It was my pride and joy and I loved it immensely. Several weeks ago I added quite a bit of heavy substrate to the tank which upset it so it took flight around the tank. I tried very hard to be careful of it but the murky water made it hard. After everything settled it couldn't find it. I was absolutely gutted. I dug through all of the substrate and looked everywhere. I tore the tank apart, terrified I'd buried my cherished friend. No luck.

Today I was poking around for a snail I added to the tank two days ago. GUESS WHO I FOUND. My sneaky vampire shrimp hiding behind my sponge filter. I feel so silly for not finding him but my heart is so full tonight. I've really missed my little buddy.
