When should I tell him that isn't his home?

Unfortunately my tank has to come down. I’m selling my livestock. How much would this bubble coral be worth? Roughly 12”L 12”H

Slowly but surely adding to the zoa collection!!

Why is there a big bubble in my frog spawn? I think it inflated one of its arms?

New additions to the reef tank

Posted: 24 Mar 2021 12:11 PM PDT

Just stumbled across this subreddit and realized I need a reef tank. Are jellyfish possible? If someone can point a noob in the right direction I’d appreciate it!

Even if jellyfish aren't possible. Where can I go to learn how to set these up and maintain a healthy environment? Any resources or tips for when you guys started would be awesome!

I wanted a tank, so I built a cabinet, ordered a tank and sump, glued pipes, smashed rocks, and added salt. Took about 3 months with the curing/cycling of the rocks.

Advice with moving a Reef Tank?

Posted: 24 Mar 2021 06:43 PM PDT

Hey everyone,

So I am about to be in between moves (leaving my apartment to go stay at in laws for a few months while we house hunt to save money)

Knowing I'm in between moves, I am torn between selling everything and keeping the tank to start up again when we are moved into our next house (hopefully soon) or packing everything up and bringing it with me.

Do you guys have any tips in regards to how to move this seamlessly? I'm worried about the risk of harming the anemones on the move and obviously potential risk of damaging the tank.

Should i just storage the tank and ask for people to hold onto some of the livestock until I'm ready?

Tank info: 40g cube 2 clowns 3 anemones turbo snails ungodly amount of coral from zoas to blastos to GSPs I do have a Jeep but first drive would be about 2 hours (Jersey to Reading, PA) then most likely back to Jersey again

Question on bacteria for cycling?

Posted: 24 Mar 2021 07:56 PM PDT

So, i am upgrading my current 20g reef tank too a 55g soon. I've got everything else planned but i'm still a little stuck on how i'd like too cycle the tank. I have a little 2ish gallon saltwater tank i squeeze seeded filter media into from my current tank during water changes and media changes. Would it be necessary too buy bacteria too help with the cycle or should i be good with the bunch i've got along with live rock? I'm also going too buy fritz ammonia chloride for the cycle.
