Our goldfish just had babies, what do we do? Posted: 11 Mar 2021 10:51 PM PST So there are now 2 random 5mm long baby fish in the aquarium. What's the best way to keep them alive and stopping them from dying? Our daughter is already absolutely besotted with them. We've never had this happen before so have no idea what to do. Spawning Thai Oranda Female-- Should I Help Her Along? Posted: 11 Mar 2021 07:58 PM PST I have two males in the tank with her, but they're pretty small and I'm not sure if they're sexually mature. One has the tubercles on his fins, but not his gills. She's pretty big and has been "pregnant" with eggs for about a week now. Should I hand spawn her to decrease risk of egg binding? I noticed that the males started chasing today, but it only lasted an hour... [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Mar 2021 11:13 AM PST I just moved my 3 fancies (black moor, ryukin, and a ranchu) into a bigger tank along with a new addition (another ranchu) and unless I or my girlfriend are walking by the tank they all seem kinda...bored. Like they'll just sit there, floating around rather than swimming. Two of them like to hunker down in a corner of the tank until someone enters the dining room where they are and then they're all lively as can be. There isn't any worrisome behavior like fin clamping or or any outward signs that anything is wrong, per se. They just seem bored! Parameters and tank are great - 75gal, 0-0-20ish. There are no decorations of any kind in the tank, and there is a thin sand substrate. Should I add more sand for them to dig around, or maybe some empty pots/pvc pipe for them to swim inside of and explore? I was originally going to add some potted plants as well as a sort of center piece in the tank, but I haven't gotten around to getting the plants I wanted yet. Any suggestion on how to make sure they aren't bored, or possible suggestions of it being something else? [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Mar 2021 02:23 AM PST two of my goldfish are males and keep harassing my female. she's not getting hurt due to nothing in the tank being able to scratch her up but i'm still worried about it and don't want this to continue. i seperate them now and then do have a little break between each other. but they just go right back to it once i let them together again. is there anyway to stop this or are they going to no matter what [link] [comments] |
