Is my fish sad? :(

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 07:02 PM PST

I'm currently cycling my 37 gallon tank for my oranda goldfish. For the time being, I'm using a 10 gallon tank to quarantine him while his tank cycles. The tank I'm cycling is in the very early stages (the ammonia hasn't dropped from 4.0ppm yet) so far our goldfish has been in his quarantine tank for about 10 days. We bought him a PVC pipe to hide behind and swim through, but it's saddening to see him in such a small tank. He used to love to puff the sand in our 37 gallon tank and without any substrate in his quarantine tank he seems fairly bored and sad. Does anyone have any advice? How long should you keep a goldfish in a quarantine tank? We keep a super close eye on his water parameters in his quarantine tank. Ammonia is at 0.0 nitrites 0.0 ph is 7.4, temp is 74 & stable

Some advice would be appreciated...goldfish has patches of white. Have been treating with anti fungal last 5 days (thought it looked like fungal fluff), having light on less, etc. Water parameters are good, no change in behavior. Should I be worried? Does not appear to phase Tofu...

Pls help

Please no negative comments, I'm trying my best with them. So, I've had these babies for like 2 weeks I have a filter and a bubble thing and these fish were doing so well, better than others I had.

They were kind of floating and swimming funny so I decided that they probably needed to be cleaned so I changed the water, and now they're swimming frantically around and facing the surface alot and not behaving like they normally do. I treated the water and everything idk.

I don't know what to do. I don't want to lose them.

Is this normal behavior for goldfish? It's like the calico one is kissing my Ryukin, also does he enjoying it?

CYCLED TANK!!

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 11:10 AM PST

Hi all! I set up my tank 3 weeks ago and put two orandas in pretty early on (rookie mistake) and they died after a few days. I've been doing a ton of research about proper cycling and the nitrogen cycle. I currently have a 20 gallon tank with two mystery snails in it. I have been adding beneficial bacteria for the last week and the tank has been functioning and running with a filter and heater for 3 weeks now. I am looking to get a ranchu but want to be very sure it will be okay in the tank and that the conditions are good. Any advice in trying to ensure this best as possible?

I have 2 common goldfish at 3 inches. Is this gravel suitable? I worry about them swallowing it or choking on it D:

I got an oranda to accompany my other one in the 40 gal but it isn't eating, my first oranda in the tank ate immediately but this one isn't eating even after a day..
