lifesaver for anyone with eggs / larva Posted: 12 Mar 2021 10:33 AM PST we just had our 1st 2 clutches ( back to back , 2 diff females , same dad ) and i have 2 brine shrimp hatcheries running , and a few times they werent ready. i was looking and calling all lfs to see if they sold live baby shrimp. no luck. either eggs or frozen adult. luckily we made it through the first 2-3 feeding by crushing soft pellets. then one day this popped up on my amazon suggestions even though i searched and never found it before. its good for 6 weeks once opened , they are not live , but they are hatched , and the larva have no problem finding them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00176GU32/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 [link] [comments]

How do I keep my guy from moving around fake plants? Posted: 12 Mar 2021 09:46 AM PST We used to keep a fine sand bottom on our tank but recently changed over to a bare bottom. We have fake plants that used to be held down by the sand but now obviously just sit on the bottom and our axolotl moves them around. How can I adhere these to the bottom so that they stay in place? Posted: 12 Mar 2021 07:25 AM PST I'm wanting to buy egg crate to use as a lid for my new axolotls aquarium, but I'm not sure where to get some. It's 20 gal long so about 31"x 13" (rounding up) I can't find anything online that is this big. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Mar 2021 09:17 PM PST I've been taking care of hermit crabs for 7 years now and have had an absolute blast! However, I have decided to stop adopting them after Eric, my first one, passes away. But I've been interested in adopting an axolotl or two and giving them a nice home! I've been doing lots of research and came to the conclusion that I would be able to care for them properly. Now I just need to find somewhere to adopt them... Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd rather not buy from a chain store like Petco that doesn't care for their animals properly. But I also don't want to have to have my axie mailed to me; that just seems so inhumane, so somewhere in Minnesota or Wisconsin would be ideal. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
