Help! I need someone that knows about dwarf sirens! Posted: 20 Mar 2021 10:13 AM PDT A creek near my house is being destroyed for home development. Several species of dwarf sirens live in creek. I've contacted fish and wildlife and reported them being there but nothing is being done. I want to collect some sirens as they will surely die in a few weeks if I do nothing. I am not allowed to collect them or rehome them legally as to not interfere with nature- BUT DESTROYING THEIR HOME JSNT NATURE!!! I don't feel comfortable rehoming them to another natural body of water as I do not want to potentially disturb it's ecosystem. If anyone here has dwarf sirens can you please help me and tell me what they need to live? I am sorry I posted here. I didn't know of any relevant places I could ask for help and since sirens are fully aquatic salamanders like axolotls i thought it might be a good idea to try here. I have axolotls and tons of extra supplies. [link] [comments]

Seachem stress guard-yay or nay? Posted: 20 Mar 2021 07:24 AM PDT I picked some up to help with the 100% daily water changes because I read that it can be helpful. Except now I can't find the place I read that information! Google search isn't too helpful, other than I know now that the api stress coat is a definite nay. Anyone use stress guard with their axies without issues? [link] [comments]

May be moving to California, but what about my axies? Posted: 20 Mar 2021 03:53 AM PDT So. I may be moving out to California to attend UCLA, and I am in the process and able to register my two axolotls that I have had for over a year now as emotional support animals. However, they are illegal in California (boo). I can go through the process of trying to get a permit to have them, though— that will be it's own endeavor. UCLA's animal regulations are that emotional support animals (falls under assistive animals) may be allowed in campus housing, obviously after application and such. My question is: would they be willing to allow me to keep my axolotls if I have a permit to keep them in California? Will they be hesitant to allow them since they are illegal in the state? I do also plan on having a single room in one of the plazas, so I will be having them in my own living space. I am not ready to give my babies up and honestly this could be a make or break for me in my decision to go to this school. Anyone have any experience with anything like this or any info they could spare? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
