Axolotl - Aquariums - Hungry Peach! |
- Hungry Peach!
- I wanted to share Remy’s 6 week glow up! When I got him from the pet store he had no filaments (I assumed it was normal for his age) he also grew 2 inches. (Btw he refuses to eat night crawlers or wigglers, and the pet store is out of black worms atm. So blood worms it is!)

- My two babies are growing so fast! 3 months in and I haven’t named them yet (also about to clean, chill)
- So happy with my first tattoo, had to share. Thanks Izabella Mae!

- Found in my axolotl tank. Yuck! Wondering if anyone has seen these before and if they’re harmful. Thanks!

- I've had my axolotl for almost a year now! Do they look like a girl or a boy? (sorry for low quality pictures)
- Is this ammonia burn? She went from this to this within a day. She vomited the night before and then when we did water change she started scratching her gills and flopping a lot and then this. 2 water changes a day do I need to give her salt baths or no? I can’t tell if fungus or aminos burn.

Posted: 11 Mar 2021 09:53 AM PST Heyo! I am in the middle of cycling my tank, and for the past while, I have had the issue of this weird gray slime in my tank. My filter media was white, now it's grayish brown. It floats in my tank, and settles on top of my sand. Any tips on what this is, and how to fix it? [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 08:58 PM PST New axol mom here and I'm worried about my little girl. She has lost the fringe on one side of her face and it happened overnight. There are no other fish in her aquarium but we did get her several new plants days before we saw the gill damage. We watch her a lot and can even hand feed her so the damage would not have been missed. We have oerded a second filter and are about to bump her up to a 40gal as we have another axol coming soon. I want to make everything is as safe as possible and get her healthy as quick as possible. Do I tea bath or salt bath? How many times a day? How long do I bathe her? Should I do a full water change? Any and all advice please! [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Mar 2021 06:32 PM PST I'm getting my first axolotl hopefully next week, I just need some general care and set up tips!! I have a 20gal set up with a sand substrate and a few small plants. Its been cycling for a while as well. I read that axolotls like hides? They don't like a lot of plants do they? Whats the best thing for food for them? [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 Mar 2021 06:13 PM PST Hello! I have been cycling my tank for over two weeks now by adding in the Dr. Tim's ammonia. I've been testing my tank almost every day and the ammonia levels are down but the nitrate and nitrite levels are really high. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong again? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!! Ammonia: 0 ppm Nitrite: 2 ppm Nitrate: 40 ppm [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Mar 2021 05:03 PM PST My water parameters are super high. Nitrates 20-40, ammonia .5-1, and nitrite 5. That is completely my fault and I'm not gonna make excuses for not buying the freshwater test kit soon enough. I've been using test strips and just got the kit the other day when I realized my parameters were WAY worse than I thought. I did a 50% water change yesterday and today and the parameters haven't changed. My axolotl is 7 inches and still decently young and I really would hate to see him pass away from my negligence. What should I do? Please help, I don't know how long he's going to be able to hold up. [link] [comments] |
