So the yellow snail in the back was/is the one destroying my tank because the blue snail here wouldn't do it with him. Lmaoooo so she was ready to go but just not with him poor guy

Should I change these larger rocks out for finer aquarium gravel? I have mystery snails, shrimp and lots of snail babies

Can you keep 2 mystery snails without them breeding?

Posted: 17 Mar 2021 01:29 PM PDT

I'm going off the assumption that the store has no idea how to sex snails, and I don't either, so I'm assuming worst case scenario I get a male and female who will try to get it on. I currently have one mystery in my betta tank. Thankfully, the fish is very comfortable with it and does not seem have any intention of harming him, he couldn't care less. So I would like to get another.

I have tons of live plants so algae is very little. Current snail loves algae wafers and eats them just fine. Nerites in my experience won't touch them, and living in a dorm I don't have easy access to veggies or other things that they like.

My understanding is that mystery snails will only lay eggs above the water level, so if I keep the water level at the top, where they are unable to get up there because of the rim and lid, should that be OK?

My guppies are nipping at my mystery snails :(

I got 2 ivory mystery snails recently and have noticed that my guppies have been nipping at them. How much nipping is too much? I don't want my snails to be in danger and if I can, how do I stop it? So far, I've just been waiting for them to stop, but I'm new to this snail thing and I would like your guyses input.

Can anyone tell the sex from these photos? I think purple (left) might be make and magenta (right) might be female?
