Reef Tank - Aquariums - Working on a dwarf seahorse set up, and I'm very happy with how it's coming along! So far it's macro and gorgonians with a tiny feather duster.

I wanna try a macroalgae only tank. Good idea?

Posted: 03 Nov 2020 02:42 PM PST

I have a 29 gallon tank and have no experience with saltwater. I won't have a sump, so my tank will be like a display refugium with the main focus on different macroalgae. Maybe I will add a goby or inverts at some point. For cycling do I need live rock or will dead rock or a mix of live and dead rock also work?

Seagrass setup?

Posted: 03 Nov 2020 01:07 PM PST

Not reef related, but r/saltwater is not really active. Last post was 6 months ago. Has anyone here done a seagrass aquarium? I was thinking about setting up a FOWLR tank with seagrass in about half of the tank and having a few fish that live in seagrass beds like filefish and maybe a rabbitfish or a dwarf angel. I've been reading that rabbitfish and angles frequent seagrass beds. Though the rabbitfish might eat the seagrass from what I've been reading. Are there any other fish that would do well in this style set up?
