Day 1 20gal planted tank!

Contracted Multiple Tank Syndrome....it's terminal (for my wallet)! Nabbed a 20g from Petco, 20g Aqueon QuietFlow, and a 100W heater! Fertilized substrate with root tabs, 5 bunches of Vallisneria Gigantea, a couple Anubias Nana, 3 Java Fern, a handful of Java Moss, two marimo moss balls, and Pothos on the top left.

Is this how to properly plant a Madagascar bulb ?

Posted: 05 Nov 2020 07:21 PM PST

This is the exact same bulb at 2 years old (top) and brand new (bottom). The difference is remarkable, hopefully my plants will get their groove back!

Adding dirt to an established tank?

Posted: 05 Nov 2020 09:21 PM PST

Hello all! I'm looking to change my 10g tank from just gravel to dirted with a gravel cap. However, I already have fauna (betta and three snails) in it. Is there a recommended way to go about this? Should I take everything (water included) out, place the soil and gravel, and then rescape and refill? Also, do I rinse the soil like you would gravel or do I just put it straight in?

Thanks in advance! Sorry if this is a repetitive question; I looked around and couldn't find anything and didn't see an FAQ.
