Removed the black backing. Know some people prefer it and yes it did hide all the pipes etc but it looks soooo much nicer wothout in my opinion.

goldfish issue

Posted: 21 Nov 2020 03:29 PM PST

Hi all!

I have a goldfish living outside in huge concrete planter with plants and such in. I had another goldfish in there for about 8 years before it died. I replaced the gold fish with a new one. I have put some more stuff like plants in since I've got the fish. This morning I noticed what looks like fin rot and white on one eye. I checked the levels and ammonia, nitrite and nitrate are all at 0ppm. Ph is at 7.6.

What's wrong?

Thanks :)

Switching tanks

Posted: 21 Nov 2020 11:28 PM PST

I've read countless articles and am feeling burnt out...can someone dumb it down for me?

I brought a couple abandoned goldfish home a few weeks ago. They're in the tiniest bowl where they have survived for several years now. Tonight I finally found a stand for the tank I want to move them to (and it's been a heck of a search). I did stop by a fish store today but given it's a pandemic and we're supposed to be limiting our interactions I fired off a few quick questions, bought some stuff, and booked it out of there.

Today I bought Seachem "Prime" and ""Stability". I've also got "API stress coat". I have a bucket of tap water that has been sitting out almost a week now, and water test strips. I'm really worried about the water quality in their bowl, the nitrates are high - I'd like to move them as soon as possible, but how should I go about prepping the new tank using what I've acquired?

Really appreciate any wisdom you guys can pass on.

Fish as been floaty for a week

My goldfish I think has swim bladder, her butt has been floating up for about a week.

I gave her some peas but I don't think they have done anything.

She goes up for air every once in awhile but I have a bubbler and my other goshfish doesn't do that.

What should i do?
