| Need Some Advice! Crayfish Molted Without Any Visible Signs of Pre-Molt with its Tank Mates Posted: 15 Nov 2020 11:20 PM PST Hello! First time poster and relatively new to owning a crayfish. So as stated in my title, my crayfish successfully molted without any signs of pre-molt. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but since I had no way of know it was coming, I didn't have a molting tank set up! The tank has two Crayfish (including the one that molted), some guppies, and a redtail shark. I'm not too worried about the fish, but the other crayfish is definitely the tank bully. It already started to eat the others molt, while the one who molted has hidden itself in the caves of the tank- I'm not sure what to do in this situation to keep the other safe. Should I scoop out the bully and set him aside for 24 hours~ish, or leave it be and hope for the best? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 15 Nov 2020 09:53 PM PST I posted the other day about my crayfish and he ended up passing away. I'm not sure why but I'm assuming it was from molting complications. Im so sad about it. I'm thinking about getting another crayfish eventually because he made me so happy, but I don't want to repeat the same mistakes I could've made with my last one. How do I help with the molting process? I have a 10 gallon room temp tank with lots of fake plants and hiding spots. Nothing was in it but my cray. I didn't purchase sea iodine or cuttlebone til it was too late, but I do have some now for the future. How often should I use those? Would adding live shrimp to the tank help? I would really appreciate any advice you guys have [link] [comments] | ||
