| Single Mystery Snail constantly laying clutches Posted: 16 Nov 2020 05:42 PM PST I have one Mystery snail in my shrimp tank. I've had her for about 5 months now, and about 1 month ago she laid her first clutch. I disposed of it, and a few days later she laid another. She has laid a new clutch every 3 days or so for a solid month. How long will this go on? They're enormous clutches, I honestly don't know how she's making all of these. Is there an end in sight, or is this just my life now? I'm glad she's so happy, but I did not expect multiple clutches a week, especially since she isn't mating with another snail. | Posted: 17 Nov 2020 02:31 AM PST I have 4 Nerite snails and they are usually walking up and down leaves and superbly active. However, I fed them a carrot and they've been really inactive since. Really worried about them. They keep hiding at the bottom of the tanks. Still alive but much slower. Side note: algae hair is growing a lot since their inactiveness. | Posted: 16 Nov 2020 08:50 PM PST Hey, so I'm looking for advise on when mating crosses the line into too much. I have 1 confirmed male (Mr horndog)and 2 i assume are female. I have found Mr horndog mating mainly with one of the females multiple times a day for a couple weeks. The one on bottom seems less than amused, trying to shake Mr H off, escaped the tank a couple days ago, and was making another attempt tonight. At what point should they be separated and for how long? I had to put them in my smaller QT tank while I treat my main one for ich, so Mr H would need to be put in a breeder prison. Healthy plants that they apparently wouldn't eat unless they are decaying which they weren't. I think PetSmart completely messed up the species because these 2 snails have blown through $20 in plants. At first I was going to give them back to PetSmart and ask for a credit but I found a simple 1 gallon tank with a filter for $20 by top fin. Any tips on housing them? I might get 1 or 2 more tomorrow when I pick up the tank. I'd get a bigger size but I already have 4 tanks. I have some lame fake plants that I might add to the tank. I'll be feeding them blanched cucumber and zucchini. [link] [comments]  | ||

I have a mystery snail in a 2.5 gallon tank w/ a filter and for the past couple of months, he literally hasn't moved his shell. His body peeks out & goes back in, but his shell stays in the exact same spot. Also, he's not eating. He used to eat algae wafers but now those just sit untouched. I've also tried spinach, cucumber, & broccoli to no avail. I use the wonder shells in his tank also. Any idea what's going on? [link] [comments]  | ||
