My gold mystery snail and my black striped mystery snail have mated and they laid eggs! I am currently incubating the clutch but am excited to see what color my babies will be. Does anyone know what color I would get out of these babies? Thanks in advance!

There's a ton of little snails in my tank

Posted: 09 Nov 2020 02:45 PM PST

Hi everyone, new person here. So, I have a 10 gallon tank at work with one female betta fish in it, and for a long time, only one (full grown) female nerite snail. I know she's female because she laid eggs that just never were fertilized (I've had it for 6+ months).

Anyway, I bought some plants recently for the tank and I clearly did not wash them off good enough because now I have an explosion of teeny tiny snails. They're very cool to watch because they float around, but I do worry that they'll harm my fish and overpopulate the tank. I think they're very neat and I don't really want to kill them, but I'm not sure what to do. They don't all look like nerites so that's why I'm thinking they came off the plants.

Anyone have advice for a ding dong who accidentally bred snails?

aquarium salt and mystery snail

Hey y'all, i am treating my betta for fin rot and i think it'd be best for him to remain in the main tank. do mystery snails tolerate salt approx 1/2 teaspoon per gallon? I only have one heater but i do have a secondary container I could set up for the snail, it just wouldn't have any substrate or plants. I am a new snail owner so i'm not quite sure how to go about this

I finally got my first clutch of snail eggs! I’m excited at the thought of snail babies but is it really wise to try and hatch them? I have 7 snails in a 20 gallon tank. This doesn’t seem like a lot of eggs to me but I don’t know anything about it.
