Has anyone seen this color combo before? Black shrimp, gold stripe down the back. Not the best photo, I know. Will try to get better ones.

My shrimp really love when I add fresh water to their tank. Is this normal? I do 20% water changes weekly (I enjoy feeding them too much lol), 0 deaths!!! Just curious, maybe they're tryin to tell me something...?

How do I optimize my tank for 3 shrimp?

Posted: 06 Oct 2020 11:03 PM PDT

My 5.5 gallon tank contains an african dwarf frog, a ghost shrimp, and 2 cherry shrimp.

Cutting to the chase, how do I keep my shrimp healthy without harming the frog? I know they need hard water, but i'm a bit confused about how to keep their exoskeletons healthy while not risking the frogs health as I know they are sensitive.

If need be, I can seperate them, but are there any products that can satisfy their mineral needs without affecting frog? Will feeding them the right food keep their shells healthy? or do they need water additives as well?

Thank you for any advice :)
