Still having a bit of an issue with some white spots on the top of my Ranchu's head. I treated the tank with PimaFix for the full week, and honestly it didn't seem to get much better if not a little worse. I don't think it's wen growth because it's been around for a while. I'll post more info below.

Cycling my tank

Posted: 06 Oct 2020 06:37 PM PDT

It's been 1 week since I started cycling my tank and my ph level is at 7.6 my ammonia is about 2.0 my nitrite and nitrate are both 0. should I do a water change? I'm cycling with ammonia and stability. Thanks.

Any idea on what might be going on with my guy? Picture of his original color vs now. The black is progressively spreading. No ammonia in the tank, regular water changes, stable pH of 7, water is 70 degrees. The color change started on his head and has just been rapidly spreading lately

My fish has ich: salt baths or add salt to tank?

Posted: 06 Oct 2020 11:33 AM PDT

I read about people doing salt baths for their goldfish, adding salt to the aquarium and doing water changes later. I've also ready to NOT combine salt with fish medicine. I've read that medicine alone is enough. I read the wiki here and I just want a group consensus on treating ich.

Also am I able to feed him during treatment? Thank you.

how to keep water cool for the summer months ????

Posted: 06 Oct 2020 02:50 PM PDT

so i am considering of finally getting an oranda goldfish because i just upgraded to a larger tank ! BUT i am worried about the temperature. the tank right now sits between 70-80, which i think may already be pushing for goldfish ? but during the summer the tank may go over 80 (my 5 gal has tropical fish that can handle 80) so i'm wondering:

how can i cool down my water ?

i read online that i can put ice in the tank, some people say the goldfish are ok in tanks over 80 but only for a short amount of time (idk what short amount of time means), and someone said something about a chiller ?

plsplspls help me out i really want to be able to keep a goldfish and not have them die on me due to improper water temperature )-:

Advice.

Posted: 06 Oct 2020 11:28 AM PDT

Unfortunately tonight I have had to euthanise one of my goldfish. I'm pretty upset about it. It had severe swim bladder disease since the day I bought him and it only got worse. I tried various treatments but nothing seemed to work. My question is, I used a bucket with clove oil. How will I clean the bucket to continue to use it now it has had clove out inside. Many thanks

Stocking advice

Posted: 06 Oct 2020 09:38 AM PDT

Hello in a few weeks time I am going to be upgrading my turtle to a 50 gal tank. How do I go about cleaning his old 40 gal tank to make it safe for goldfish and how many ranchu could I potentially keep in there? Thank you everyone
