;Update! On saving goldfish from a well... success!

Posted: 03 Oct 2020 04:36 PM PDT

Just got back from the well after looking at every goldfish in there, the feeder gold fish and the comet goldfish(the ones with orange and white with a normal tail) where doing good but the Shubunkin goldfish got eaten my something swimming and diving in the well(raccoon probably) bit there was one long tail left that had a injury on its head and was much slower than the rest but not as skinny as the other long tail I got, still it was very slow and I cought it with ease. That was the last gold fish I got from the well that was not doing well! (pun intended) and it is now very happy in my well filtered and cared for pond (water is christel clear! And got a new cattail for it today!

One of my black moors has swim bladder disease. He floats up to the top of the tank. Any ideas on how to cure it?

Help deciding best tank size/ fish size?

Posted: 03 Oct 2020 10:06 PM PDT

I'm interested in buying one thai oranda for my 30 gallon tank. I keep hearing conflicting things about tank size and fish size-- what are some of you seasoned goldfish keepers' opinions? I've always done an 80/90% water change just because I like to err on the side of caution (and the water nitrate level around here doesn't have the best record). Could a five inch fish be fine? A seven inch fish? Should I restrict the fish I buy to no more than four inches? I just want to keep my future fish as healthy as possible. Thanks!

Acrylic Aquariums

Posted: 03 Oct 2020 12:45 PM PDT

We're getting ready to move and my plan is to upgrade and have a new tank set up and ready to transfer my goldies to. I'm thinking somewhere between 180-250 so acrylic would actually be cheaper and so much lighter, but I know they can be easily scratched and yellow over time. Do any of you have one? Worth it or no?

Need help with Gundam proyect

Posted: 03 Oct 2020 09:59 AM PDT

Dear Community, i need help with a dream proyect that i have since child. Want to introduce a "destroyed" Gundam into my acuarium and need some nerdy information:

-Bandai figures material have toxics reactions with ammonia, nitrite or nitrate? Consider paint, stickers, adhesives or structure self. (I know bootleg figures have random components, so i go safe)

-Figures take erosion from water? Please dont consider bubbles, only filter water flow.

-Have experience with something like this, or you know something i need to know? The last thing i want is my fish get hurt by ornamental structures.

Im triying to buy a figure w/o pointing things, so my fish dont get hurt by derp movements.

Thanks! Greetings from Chile.
