Nitrate 10-20/nitrite 0/alkalinity 100/PH 7.6. He has lost scales and has a split in his fin on top and a split in his tail. Do I treat w/ meds?

New Koi Pond Hobby

Howdy Friends!

I've got about 8+ years of experience with indoor freshwater fish tanks (100 Gal Tank) but have been without fish for about 3 years now. My wife and I are researching and dreaming about making a Koi Pond in our backyard.

We've got the space and location for it, and I've got a shovel to dig with. As I'm going through and doing my research, I'd love to hear about any other's recent experiences starting a koi pond or any "wish I woulda know this before..." tips people have come across through experience.
