| I just siphoned off a chunk of my hammer coral Posted: 15 Sep 2020 09:02 PM PDT Only a tiny bit most of the tissues are still there but I'm just here to mourn. I feel so bad. I hope the little guy will be okay. [link] [comments] | ||

| [Help] Brand new tank, filtration question and a couple others Posted: 15 Sep 2020 11:14 PM PDT So recently, I have been making my first dive into saltwater converting a 15 gal Fluval Flex into a saltwater tank. I went ahead and got the live rock, live sand, and water cycling. My first question is about filtration. I set it up mostly like my freshwater setups (mechanical, bio, then chemical) in the three stage "sump" in the back of the tank. I have an included diagram (so sorry for ms paint, i didnt have any other software) on the imgur link. There is also a nano skimmer in the inlet stage and heater in the outlet stage. My other question was about stocking. First, do I just cycle as if it were a freshwater aquarium as i'm just waiting on the nitrogen cycle? My last question was about stocking. I was looking to likely do one ocellaris, a single yellow clown goby, and a firefish goby. On top of this, a few inverts, and later some easy LPS like green star and zoas. Thank y'all very much! | Posted: 15 Sep 2020 07:14 PM PDT I recently got my first gorgonian coral (I believe it is a whip Gorgonian I just don't know what type of whip it is) and within the first day almost all of the polyps where out and then all of a sudden for the past three or four days they haven't come out at all. It is in the corner on my 38g long and it has ample room to grow and is away form everything else in the tank and the side of the tank wall. It is on the other side of the tank than the power head but has a lot of flow and sways a lot in the current. I have other corals in the tank like some zoas and candy canes and I also have an anenome that are all doing fine. I just don't know what is up with the gorgonian. Please if you have any ideas or recommendations let me know. [link] [comments] | ||
