New owner! I've had Roomba for 2 weeks, I feel like she looks healthy but she is not super active. I read that can be pretty normal though... Thoughts? Advice? Thank you!

Axolotl Tank Help

Posted: 13 Sep 2020 03:49 PM PDT

Hey, I just got an axolotl around a week ago. I had the tank set up about 5 days before I received him, and my setup consists of a 20-gallon long tank with a piece of artificial driftwood and some live plants. Before he arrived, I notice murky white cloudy water which I was assuming was a bacteria bloom. This murky water never went away, however, and shortly introducing the axolotl, I found that the water was still murky and had a bit of a brownish tint. It has been this way for around a week. I have tested the water and it reads fine on pH, Nitrate, Nitrite, and Ammonia. I have a 40-gallon sponge filter in the corner of the tank. I cannot really tell what is causing the cloudy water and would appreciate some pointers! I have done some 33% water changes to no real avail with the water still staying cloudy despite it. The axie eats well and doesn't show any red flags to its health that I am aware of.

Our axolotl seems to have a white dot forming? We have had Ozzy roughly a week, any ideas of what this could be? Is it a fungus?

Trying to cool down my 20 gallon tank for my Axolotls

Posted: 13 Sep 2020 01:41 PM PDT

I have two 20 gallon (long) tanks for my two Axolotls. I live in Hawaii where the room temperature even with a fan on the tank will keep it at 80 degrees (26 celsius) I'm looking for a chiller that will bring the tank down to 60 - 64 degrees (16 Celsius) Any good recommendations? I want the best for Yin and Yang ( I have a white and black one.)

Help! White gunk all over tank

Posted: 13 Sep 2020 12:33 PM PDT

I moved into my dorm around a month ago, and brought my axolotl with me, and around a week after I moved him in, this white gunk started appearring in his tank. It looks like it's growing off the plants and the sides of the tank, and it's clogging up the filter so that it is barely working. I'm cleaning his tank almost daily at this point and scrubbing everything off, cleaning out the filter cartridge, etc. Idk what it could be, does anybody have any ideas? My axolotl seems fine, his gills look healthy, he isn't stressed, and he's eating and pooping well but his tank just constantly looks gross and I don't know how to fix it.
