My first babies hatched! They are TINY!

This is the 3rd time in 2 weeks I’ve found this little guy up here! Somehow he’s discovered that he can climb up the little stream bed all the way to the filter and feed on the special algae growing there. Seems like quite the journey. Very impressive, little Neo.

Is it ok for berried cherry shrimp to have a saddle

Posted: 02 Aug 2020 11:24 PM PDT

It's been about 2 weeks since my cherry shrimp is berried but I've noticed that she has a saddle again. It's been getting more and more prominent and is starting to look like when she was going to molt.

Should I be worried? Will I need to make an egg tumbler? My water parameters were all fine and I do weekly water changes.

At the beginning of covid my shrimp tank cracked and I donated all of my shrimps to my lfs and thought I would never have another tank.... it’s a work in progress but I wanted to show you a update of my new shrimp tank I’m creating :)

Is this a newly born shrimp or a worm? It's around 1mm and mostly they are on the gravel running kind of fast! I was looking for a baby shrimp (my first) I saw today and noticed lots of tiny white things running. Had to use a macro lens to make this video. I hope these are not tiny planaria!

Troubleshooting new tank w/ two losses

Posted: 02 Aug 2020 03:48 PM PDT

Hi everyone. I'm new to the hobby & as the title reads, I have lost two shrimps back to back during the first week. One was a bloody mary & the other was a berried cherried shrimp. I'm worried because the rest have been pretty lethargic. My tank is fully cycled & my parameters are:

pH: between 6.8-7.2 (it's hard for me to tell) Gh:8 Kh:2 Ammonia:0 ppm Nitrite: 0 ppm Nitrate: near 0 ppm TDS: 237 Temp: 74 (Water is not rodi)

If it helps at all I have 2 nerite snails, fluval stratum substrate, water lettuce, and marimo moss balls. There are 8 remaining shrimp (two of which are berried). I've been adding supplemental seachem stability every couple of days and I plan to do a 20% water change today. Maybe an irrelevant detail, but there were two molts within the first two days or being in my 7.5 gallon tank and I've been feeding every two days.

Thank you in advance!
