Hey all. Came home after 4 days away to this guy stuck inside a pond plant. Details of treatment and suggestions needed in comments

Can anybody ID what type of fancy this is? Is that a small wen? He is rather large so I would assume if he was an Oranda it would be more prominent

Water changer?

I have a 29 gallon tank with sand. I tried the python but doesn't fit over my faucet (no threading). I'm looking for something that's good with cleaning the sand and changing out water. Preferably something I can drain and fill from a bucket. Any suggestions?

A small snippet of my favourite tank! Meet my Fantails! Bubble & Squeak, Bangers & Mash, Sugar & Spice and Salt & Pepper. Really proud of this tank, and since starting we’ve battled bacteria bursts and algae blooms, but the fish have always been very happy little souls.

Fish vomit?

I was feeding my goldfish (one oranda and one comet) when my oranda ate about 10 ish pellets. We tried making him fast for a few days, but he's been really lethargic recently. I was observing the tank when he kinda just spit out... Translucent wisps. When food comes along, he freaks out and starts gulping intensely, totally missing the food. Do you guys know what's up with my oranda? My comet is totally fine, and usually, the oranda is the one chasing the comet.. They're chill now, but he still seemed lethargic for the past few days. Any idea what this is? I checked the wiki, and I'm not sure if it's an illness. Water seems to be fine, but I'll check again tomorrow. Thanks!

I’m just disappointed..... Looked at reviews on Petco website for a 10 gallon tank.... and this is the review I see.. (I copied and pasted the review.)

THE BEST I bought this when Petco was doing the $1/gallon, and it works great for my large comet goldfish! I was using a 1 gallon tank, and I really needed an upgrade, and this was the perfect one! Pretty hard to beat the price! I can tell it was made with care. Great product!

✔ Yes, I recommend this product.

This was just sad. Keeping a large comet goldfish in a 1 gallon, then only moving them to a 10 gallon.....

Help identify disease

I have 3 goldfishes, 75 gallon tank, once a week 30-40% water change. One of the goldfish 3 days ago started to act more isolated and weak, yesterday she had some kind of growth on the side of her body behind the side fin. I googled it, looked like some kind of fungus, so I went to the store and got Maracyn Oxy, added it yesterday after changing the water. Today the growth fell of, and she just has 2 holes on her sides. Other two fishes are perfectly fine. Would appreciate some advice, thank you https://i.imgur.com/AIz2tKY.jpg https://i.imgur.com/H0rp9Ld.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5MvzMtZ.jpg

Super ick cure killed the ich, but its also killing my fish.

Posted: 02 Aug 2020 06:36 PM PDT

This stuff basically nuked my tank. I have a 60 gallon planted tank and I had one shubunkin and two commons. The two commons started to show signs of ich, probably from the crowded tank from the pet store. so I went and picked up some super ick cure by api. I followed the directions by turning up the heat and removing the activated carbon and adding it per the dosage and repeating after 48 hours.

Well one of my commons started gasping for air at the top of the tank. I thought this was odd and I checked the water parameters, they were perfect. Zero ammonia, nitrite and low nitrate. I thought maybe he was recovering from the ich. Well i wake up the next morning and he's dead. The shubunkin is now at the top of the tank, gasping for air and my other common is also gasping for air. I turned the heat off and did a 25% water change and inserted the activated carbon in the filter. A few hours later I checked on them and my shubunkin is dead and the last common is at the surface gasping for air.

Now I know it was the super ick cure, so i took out my last common and put him in an isolation tank with fresh dechlorinated water. He is swimming around but is still constantly gasping. I will never buy this stuff again, it straight up killed my fish. Next time if I find myself with a fish who has ich, im going to do the old fashioned salt bath treatment. Im not sure if i have to drain my tank and clean it to make it safe for fish again.

Enrichment For Goldfish?

Posted: 02 Aug 2020 01:07 PM PDT

I recently moved my goldfish to a bare-bottom tank and I worry that she's going to get too bored in it. I scattered round, smooth, pebbles around the tank for her to mess with as well as a fake plant, a real plant, a sideways glass jar, and a rock tunnel, but I'm wondering what else I can provide as enrichment. A tank mate is out of the question until I can figure out how to move multiple goldfish between apartments and later on between states.
