Outdoor pond with auto fill valve- no conditioner

Posted: 31 Jul 2020 09:15 PM PDT

Hello,

I have a waterfall on my outdoor pond and it evaporates about a gallon a day. The pond is roughly 150 gallons or so. recently I've been filling it up about 2 or 3 gallons every couple days instead of waiting to do a major refill, and I haven't been adding conditioner thinking that a 1-2% addition of water per time won't harm my fish. am I right or wrong about that? I want to make it so the water fills automatically, but if I need to add conditioner for every gallon added that won't work. two fish have died recently but they are roughly 10 years old at this point. thoughts?

thank you

Would these fish fight?

Hi there, I was hoping to get a few different goldfish, but I'm not sure if they will fight. I like Shubunkin, Fantail, Oranda & Blackmoor. Would they get along? Thank you

Family photo. Snails are called Turbo and Flash, because of how fast they are.

What are these white spots on its gills? There are a few on it's front fins as well

My (orange) goldfish has barely moved out of this spot today, and whenever he tries to move he just spins in circles or turns upside like the video shows. Is something wrong?

Here goes Zencat, being a detritus disturber again...

How many here shamelessly give in to the incessant begging? When Poe does it, it's always at bed time, he makes this LOUD pop-pop-pop! And I give in and give him a pellet or two to "shut him up". I know he's not gasping for air cuz as soon as I cave, it stops. I know they dont have facial muscles but I swear I see him smirking at me!

13 L tank with 2 goldfishes

Posted: 31 Jul 2020 02:53 PM PDT

Hello everyone, is that healthy to have 2 little goldfishes in a 13 L tank?

My parents doesn't let me upgrade my tank. Some say that i should give them who has large tank to take care of them. But this option is painful and risky. My brother's friend has a large tank but he lives 500km~ away from here. And he could get more fishes to live with them so I feel very frustrated right now.

What should I do? What would be the best choice? Should I insist on buying a new tank? Even if i buy i can't take care of them by myself because of university dorm.

Note: I didn't buy the fishes, my father did so our cat would have new friends. One of those goldfishes dead. And my father bought another but bigger one to make the remaining fish cheerful.

Accidentaly discovered fry in my already slightly overstocked pond. Any tips on raising them in an aquarium or something similar?

Here is my plan. Tell me what you think.

I am considering getting some goldfish. I have a 75 gallon tank with 2 marineland 350 HOB filters. I am planning on switching the tank over to a large wet/dry sump system in the future. I also have an air pump with 2 outputs so i can put an airstone on both sides of the tank. I have some anubias, java ferns and crypts i am willing to sacrafice to see if it will work with the fish i choose. There is a thin layer of sand on the bottom with 5 large river rocks around the tank just for looks.

I was hoping to keep 1 ryukin and 2 orandas in this tank with nothing else.

I have a side question about sand. Is black diamond blasting sand (medium grit) safe for goldfish? I have used it in other tanks but i have never used it with anything that likes to sift through sand like goldfish do.

Thank you! I just want to do the best for my potential future goldfish. I have always wanted goldfish but have never had a tank big enough to keep them responsibly.

I was wondering what everyone feeds their goldfish? And can recommend some fish food, veggies and fruits that would be really good for them?
