Help!! I can’t seem to get the temperature under 80! Posted: 24 Aug 2020 10:41 AM PDT Hi all, So I am a college freshman who has a pet axolotl. I have a chiller, however, it doesn't seem to be working and I'm not sure why because of that, the tank water reads around 80 degrees, even with my fan blowing on it and ice. I live on the 3rd floor and this week is going to be really hot. Without a chiller or a way to get the water temperature down to at least 70 I'm worried for my pet. I have a mini fridge so I put her in a bucket in my fridge but I worry about her not having enough oxygen. What should I do? The temperature looks like it will start going down next Monday but what about this week? [link] [comments]

How long will my plant survive? Posted: 24 Aug 2020 07:17 AM PDT I've just received 2 'anubias barteri nana' plants in the post today. My tank isn't set up yet so I don't have anything to put it in for at least a couple more days. Do you think they will survive if they are kept in those little air-tight bags or will I need to take them out and put them in temporary tank ??? [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Aug 2020 08:27 PM PDT I have been using light colored sand in my Axolotl tanks for a while. It's gets messy so quick that I want to try a dark colored sand that would hide any messiness. I've tried looking on amazon and I found a bag of black sand, but the grains are not fine and are shiny. I want some sand that is fine and natural looking. All the nice looking sand it light colored. A lot of people on this sub say pond filter sand, but that it also white. Does anyone know where I can get some natural looking, dark (preferably black) sand? Thank you [link] [comments]
