All of Axolotl's legs and chunk of tail bitten off

Posted: 14 Aug 2020 09:28 AM PDT

I recently got 2 axolotls, pretty young and small in size. I got them a little over a month ago, and they have had no problems with each other. However, I had to take them with me somewhere temporarily, and so I transported them (and planned on keeping them) in one of those portable fish-box things. I wont have to keep them in there for too long, but I dont have access to a larger tank at the moment (they were both in a 20 gallon long before). I have a wild type (Ricky) and an albino (Lucy), and Ricky bit off Lucy's front legs and a chunk of her tail. Ricky hasn't been eating great, and I think he has a hard time finding food, so I'm sure he saw something wiggling in the water and bit it.

What I really need to know now is what to do next. Help please!!

Ps, should I feed Ricky something in particular that he could find easily? I'm feeding them frozen brine shrimp and carnivore pellets at the moment.

New Axolotl stressed and not moving

Posted: 13 Aug 2020 11:55 PM PDT

Hi everyone, I have just gotten a new boy 2 days ago and he initially seemed quite active and liking his new home. Today I noticed he has not moved at all from one spot and shows signs that he is stressed. So far he has eaten once since he's been here and has had much waste so I'm thinking he could be constipated? I have black sand for substrate. I am also in Australia and although it is winter his water reads 21c so I'm also thinking it could be the waters temperature, I have placed frozen water bottles to try to help. Anyone know what's going on and how I can help? Is he just going through a new environment phase? Thanks.

Possibly Fungus Growth?

Posted: 13 Aug 2020 09:02 PM PDT

Long time lurker, but I finally ran into an issue that deserved posting. As the title states, I think my Lucy has an early stage of fungal growth. She is 2 years old, I tested the water parameters and nothing sticks out as unusual there. She is still eating fine and I just stuck here in a black tea bath (made sure it was pure black tea). I would just love some insight here please. Fingers crossed those browsing in new are able to boost this post. Thanks in advanced everyone.

Help! Friend’s toddler dumped almost entire bottle of Prime in the 20 gallon tank!

Posted: 13 Aug 2020 09:06 PM PDT

My friends 3 year old dumped almost a full bottle of prime into the tank, and we just discovered it. How dangerous is this? How much of a tank change should I do?

Gravid Axolotl? see comments

Is this an okay size for him? 2ft long aquarium. He's around 6 inches, still growing as he's young. I desperately want a bigger tank but I don't have the money right now. He seems perfectly happy but will this do for the how many months it'll take to save for a larger tank? Aiming for 100 litres
