I would like to thank the very kind people on this subreddit.

Recently my axolotl has damaged its back leg, and I posted an image to the sub asking for advice. I have received a few comments about what to do regarding my axolotls leg, and I am very grateful for the advice and the help of the people who have taken the time out of their day to write out ways I could approach the situation. So I want to just thank the people that care about axolotls as much as I do, and telling me about how to help them. Thank you.

Pairs?

From legit everything I've read, axolotls are better off alone and don't do well with others... thoughts?

PLEASE HELP! axolotl/high ammonia/white spots

Posted: 04 Aug 2020 02:24 AM PDT

please help me, for about a week my ammonia levels have been steady at 2-4. I have used prime several times, did a half water change, also tried ammo lock. nothing seems to be reducing ammonia in my tank, i just changed/cleaned the filter. and am hand feeding to reduce waste so the is no visable wate and just cleaned 2 days ago. im scared this is going to kill my axolotls. but dont know what to do.

ive noticed some white spots and the feathers dont seem to be as fluffy.. please help. any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Help! Unsure about these white spots on my boy Chocolate

Help! Unsure about these white spots on my boy Chocolate

Chocolate has always had the smaller white flecks as part of his colouration since I got him 3 years ago but I only just noticed the larger yellowish-white ones.
I'm unsure how long he's had them since he used to be in a much darker room and I didn't see him anywhere near as well until I moved recently. I don't think he would've had them any longer than a month.
He is eating well and acting as normal. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

A new worried axolotl owner is I’m looking for some help-

Posted: 04 Aug 2020 01:39 AM PDT

Our new Axie, who is only just turned 2 months, keeps producing gas bubbles! Maybe this is normal but I've not seen it anywhere. She's in a big Tupperware and we're keeping the temp low with a fan and feeding her twice a day with bloodworms. Any ideas what this could be?

Feeding

Posted: 03 Aug 2020 07:25 PM PDT

What do you feed your axolotls and how often? Ive been feeding mine nightcrawlers, but I am looking for an alternative when winter comes and they arent available anymore. My Axie stopped eating the axolotl pellets just around the time worms became available again, thank goodness, but Im hesitant to switch back over to pellets in the winter.

Tank is extremely cloudy, ammonia and nitrites are 0

Posted: 03 Aug 2020 08:05 PM PDT

So my tank is cycled but is still SUPER cloudy, very frustrated, I'm doing a 50% water change because my nitrates were at 40 ppm. Ammonia and nitrite are 0. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi, I'm trying to convince my parents to let me get and axolotl, so I'm wondering if anyone had advice? We have a tank and plenty of decorations since it used to gave fish, although I'll prob end up buying more. And I know I'll probably need bigger rocks for the bottom.

Posted: 03 Aug 2020 08:01 PM PDT

I was wondering if I could feed them brine shrimp bred in a different tank or would i need more food than that? I just need all the advice basically. I really wanna take good care of them, so anything is helpful. Thank you!

Baby axolotl, anything to help?

Posted: 03 Aug 2020 07:47 PM PDT

I have two axolotls that I grew from an accident batch of eggs. while one is growing fine and has reached about 2 inches the other has remained under 1 inch, has only grown front limb nubs and most worryingly has been upside down for weeks. It is genetic no doubt but has anyone ever had a baby axolotl grow out of this? Is it better to put him down? He has a very good appetite despite the lack of limbs and upsidedown position.
