This is Olivia, my very first snail. She’s an ivory mystery snail, and a very dorky clumsy one. Tips and tricks on care and food?!

Snail ID? I just picked up a Jungle Val plant from my local aquarium store and noticed this little snail within a couple hours. Probably hitchhiked. I also noticed a couple smaller ones in the tank as well. Good? Bad? Keep them? Sorry for the terrible photo quality!

Hello! First time poster here. I just recently bought live daphnia for my betta fish and just saw these two snails in the bag they came with! Just wondering what they could be and if they’re safe to eventually put in my 5-gallon tank with my betta? Thanks!

Acclimating Mystery Snails Shipped Without Water

Posted: 23 Aug 2020 11:19 AM PDT

I know there was a previous post but it seems that at least one of the replies assumed that they were in water. What is the best way to acclimate mystery snails that have been shipped in paper towels/newspaper? Should they simply be placed in the tank?

I need HELP!!!!!

Posted: 23 Aug 2020 11:14 AM PDT

So, my mystery snails surprised me a couple days ago with a clutch. (I'm not a breeder.) I had no idea what to do, that day I spent the whole day learning about what to do. I set up my 2.5 gallon, put the clutch on a damp paper towel in a Rubbermaid and floated it on top of my 2.5 gallon tank the next day.

I went to go look at my snails, and I saw these tiny, tiny, tiny little things moving on the tank wall (in the water) at the top, the water level was a little bit low because I was busy those last day and didn't get to water changes.

I started freaking out. I have never had this happen before. My snails also have this kinda white fuzz on them.... I don't know what to do.

I know that it won't help without a picture or video, but I am on the Reddit mobile website, so I can't put pictures into my posts. I'm sorry!!

If you have any idea what it is, please tell me! I have no idea what they are, where they came from (water, snails, plants), how they got there, how long they've been, or if they will hurt my betta or snails. I don't know how to treat the tank!

Can my water be to warm for mystery snails?

Posted: 23 Aug 2020 02:37 PM PDT

I'm trying to breed mystery snails and I have a heater but no matter what I turn it to it stays at 80-82 all the time. Is this dangerous or should I spend money on a new one, I'm trying to not buy heaters because they are quite expensive and if I can keep it the way it is without a risk of harm I would prefer not to

Thinking of getting some small aquatic snails on their own without fish, I'm not sure what I'll need to do to accommodate them though.

Posted: 23 Aug 2020 05:10 AM PDT

Recently decided that I wanted to give taking care of smaller pets a shot, and after debating on things such as noise and size, I've decided that I'm interested in trying to care for some (preferably small) aquatic snails.

I unfortunately don't really know what I'll need for them, or how to care for them, which is why I'm here.

Firstly, I don't really know much about different species of snail, or how big they get, as I'm looking for something on the small side rather than larger (for instance, I've heard that certain snails can grow to the size of a tennis ball, and I just can't accommodate that unfortunately).

Since I won't have any fish with them, and they eat the mould stuff off of the sides of the tanks they're in, I'm curious as to how and how often I would need to clean their enclosure, as well as if I'd need a water filter, how often and how much I should change the water, and how big the encloser should be per snail.

I'm also curious about the water itself, as in should I be filtering the water before using it in the tank? Should I be buying specific water?

I've also seen both plastic and glass tanks terrariums for snails and I'm not sure if ones better than the other or not.

Would I also need real plants in the tank, hiding spots like you'd give a fish, or any type of flooring such as sand or stones?

I've also heard something about feeding snails egg shells and dried cuttlefish, but I'm not sure if that's true or what it does for the snail.

If it's any contextual help, I live in the UK.

If anyone has any pointers or advice for what snails I should get, and how to care for them properly, id really appreciate it.

T.L.D.R: looking at getting small aquatic snails, little to no idea how to care for them and what they'll need to thrive, looking for advice here.
