I'm going to put more sand in my tank but i'm worried that a lot of my snails will die when I put the sand in because they won't be able to dig their way up, does anyone know if they would be alright and find their way to the surface?

Hi. I have 4 mystery snails in a 20 gallon tank.

They've been perfectly happy for months. Mating all the time (4 out of 5 are males, so the frequency of their loving surprised me). Eating like crazy. General happy snail stuff.

I've been adding each one in spaced out by about a month, so I've had the oldest snail for 5 months and the youngest about 1 month.

The past 3 days I've noticed some alarmed behavior. 1 snail was kind of burrowing in the gravel. He has since stopped and joined 2 others with mostly just clinging to the glass. Another has spent the last day inside his shell not moving (but doesn't yet smell bad). None are active or eating.

Water parameters:

Ammonia - 0

Nitrite - 0

Nitrate - 20

pH - 7.8

GH - 13

KH - 4

Copper - 0

Temperature - 76

I know I want my pH down a little bit. I added a piece of cholla wood a couple weeks ago with no real results, so I was planning on adding a little more. But all the water parameters have been steady and consistent, which they have been totally fine with.

I haven't added any chemicals in months except Prime.

Filter is functioning fine and the water is clear.

I added some Anubias frazeri on driftwood and some micro sword about a month ago, they seemed to like it fine.

Weeks after adding those plants, I found 3 bladder snails. I got rid of them.

I'm terrified that my Mystery Snail friends are sick and dying, but I have no idea why or what I can do about it. Anything you all can think of to help? I would greatly appreciate it.

Ive had my nerite snails for approximately 6 months and the other 2 are fine but the one hasnt moved in 2 days and is acting strangely more that usual. What could he be doing and why?

I have ramshorn snails and a mystery snail in my tank and they have some shell deterioration. I am sure it is from my acidic water (6.4 ph) but I can't do anything to help. I can't raise ph because I have crystal red shrimp that are sensitive and the tank has a buffering substrate. I fed them blanched zucchini two times and I will buy a cuttlebone for them tomorrow. I am concerned that these will not be enough for them to be healty. Can I keep them healty in this ph with good diet.

Trumpets galore. How do you make a decent trap? I am inundated with them. Don't even know where they came from. They get stuck in the filter and clog up the impeller and I pluck out as many as I can but my water bottle trap did nothing. Advice needed.. they're all in a substrate now

I just did a water change, and I've never seen my snail detached himself from the wall and just float around. He's completely out of his shell just having a ball. Should I be worried? Or is he just being silly?
