My fish hide all day every day Posted: 22 Aug 2020 10:11 AM PDT Hi all, this is my first post here. I built a pond back in April and I've had koi and goldfish in there for a while. They used to swim around on the surface all the time and they would start eating food a minute after I put it in. Then I decided to net some of the fish out and move them to my dad's pond. I wish I never had. They constantly hide now. The water is crystal clear, I can see straight to the bottom, and they just hide in their shelter all day. If I'm willing to stand far away from the pond for 20 minutes after I throw food in, I might be lucky enough to see them come up and eat. I haven't lost a single fish, so I don't really think any herons have been around. There's a falcon that lives in a nearby tree and I've seen him sit by the pond once or twice over the past couple months. I don't really think he tries to catch them though, he's always facing away from the water when I've seen him. I don't know if they're scared of me because I chased them around with a net for several days to catch all the fish I didn't like. Or maybe I gave away a friendly fish that made the rest more active. It's been like two months and they're not any less scared. I just want to see my fish. What do I do? [link] [comments] |
