Weekly quick asks thread - July 24, 2020 Posted: 24 Jul 2020 06:12 AM PDT Here is the place to post questions about pest ID, coral/fish ID, your cycle, or any other questions that generally wouldn't start up a conversation. If you have an interesting or unique question please create a new thread so everyone can discuss it in length! These are some great resources for ID's of pests/algae. [link] [comments]

It happened....the tank was cooked. Posted: 24 Jul 2020 08:21 AM PDT Walked by the tank this morning before the lights were on. I literally could feel the heat from the tank. Temps were @ 94. Turned on the lights and a lot of skeletons. Years worth of Hydnophora gone, Montis are sloughing off their skeleton. The Lepestrea and favia look like they will be ok along with the softies but everything else is toast. Huge Duncans are dead. The Clowns are alive but I haven't found or seen the wrasse. Snails are shocking alive. Urchins are dead. My NeoTherm went crazy and I didn't have it on a ReefKeeper or similar. Lesson learned. This is my first big crash in 12 years of reefling. EDIT Thank you to everyone for the kind words. [link] [comments]
