A few ‘just one more plant’ decisions and it’s definitely more of a jungle than before!

Bleach was maliciously poured into my tank. Anything i can do? (EMERGENCY)

Posted: 04 Jul 2020 08:02 PM PDT

My sister(flair related) poured a capful of bleach into my 55 gallon fishtank. when i saw the tank possibly 2-6 hours later it was very clear where she had poured it as the algae on the glass and the plants below were totally bleached and shock-white, which made me wonder if a larger amount was not put in. saw my hatchetfish, danios, tetras, crabs and all but 3 shirmp dead and pulled any unbleached plants and living fish out which was only 1 hatchetfish that was swimming on his side and the 3 shrimp that were going in circles looking for a way out. heres a list of most of the plants: Anubias Hastifolia (Anubias hastifolia) Ammannia senegalensis . Cabomba Purple (Red) (Cabomba pulcherrima)
Glossostigma (Glossostigma elatinoides) Hydrocotyle tripartita "Japan" Ludwigia Narrow Leaf (Ludwigia palustris)
Myrio Red (Myriophyllum heterophyllum)
Sagittaria subulata Dwarf
Sword Amazon (Echinodorus bleheri)
Tiger Lotus Red (Nymphaea zenkeri)

I believe I got at least one of each of those plants out, I put everything into a 5 gallon bucket and then shook it and put it in a fresh one. I'm wondering if the plants and shrimp will make it and if I need to replace my eco-complete substrate and if the driftwood can be saved. I assume all plastic and glass for co2, heat, and filtration is unaffected since thats how most people clean them anyway. Ignoring the uncounted hours and hundreds of dollars im just heartbroken my fish died. i started in january this was my first tank and it was finally starting to fill out everywhere and look good.

Decided to try one of these closed ecosystem with the clippings from my main tank. Snails and substrate critters in here. 1 specimen from each plant from main tank. Excited to see what happens!
