Pretty jazzed about my new phone background. Now Snoopy is always here to scold me for procrastinating when I should be doing cell bio homework.... like right now for example

Anyone know what kind of goldfish these are? I thought common but the super long tails make me believe maybe not. I won them at a fair and they were just pulled out of a cooler so I have no clue (no worries now though! They’re in a big happy tank and have been for a year now!)

How many comet goldfish for 1000 gallon pond?

Posted: 01 Jul 2020 01:42 PM PDT

I'm upgrading next week and wanted to see what you all recommend? Everything I read online seems wildly different.

Pond dimensions will be 9 feet by 6 feet by 4 feet at its deepest wish shelves for plants. It will also have a good filtration system and pump with fountain.

I was thinking maybe 10-15 might be the max. What do you think?

Is this ich disease? Or something else? White spots on tail that have been there for a few weeks without spreading or multiplying

Just moved goldfish to 100g tank from 30g. They seem stressed

Posted: 01 Jul 2020 08:28 AM PDT

Just moved 2 goldfish to a 100g tank and they seemed stressed for the last 12 hours since the move. They are staying on the bottom and not moving much.

I used the old filter that i had, plus all the previous gravel and all the water from the previous tank. as well as a bottle of Fluval Hagen Fluval Biological Enhancer. I figure the impact would be similar to a large 70% water change.

Anything i can do to help them de-stress from the move?

Setting up a 75 gallon

Posted: 01 Jul 2020 05:53 AM PDT

I'm about to move houses and I have an old 75 gallon tank in my garage that I decided I am going to be setting up for my current goldfish that is in a 29 gallon by himself. I have been waiting to upgrade because I knew I was going to be moving soon.

I need some advice : how many goldfish can I house in this tank size?

where can I purchase an opanda or a ranchu? Also can a common goldfish (a rescue pretty sure he was originally from a chain pet store) he placed with another breed and be fine?

I want to set up a modern tank with some clay pots like I have seen other people on this sub do. Will I be fine to do no substrate? My current goldfish is in a planted tank and pulls up all the plants.

Any other advice/suggestions would be extremely helpful!!! I have never moved a fish tank before and I will be moving 4 into a new house so also any suggestions in terms of doing that would be great as well! Thanks so much if you read to the end :D

One of my goldfish is on its side.....how do I fix it?

Posted: 01 Jul 2020 04:46 AM PDT

Before my 6 year old daughter kills me for killing her goldfish. We have two in a regular fish bowl. I don't know why I do it but I end up overfeeding them because one of them just takes all the food so i end up putting more in and now one of them is on its side..first question how often do i really need to feed them? second question how do i get this sideways fish back to normal? Thank you.

Veterinarian for swim bladder.... any success?

Posted: 01 Jul 2020 01:58 AM PDT

Just wondering if anyone has taken their fish to the vet to treat swim bladder? What was the result and would you recommend it? My ryukin has had buoyancy issues every since I had her and it has only gotten worse! I think I know EXACTLY WHY it got worse, because it's been hot lately and the tank has been 80 F so she gasps for air at the top often. I use frozen water bottles but the temp never goes down to how much I want it to :(.

Now she floats on the top of the water with her dorsal fin and top of her head slightly above water. She's been like that for a few days.

Water parameters have always been perfect! Nitrates are at 5-10! Ammonia and nitrite always at 0. She poops normally and often so it's not caused by constipation(did Epsom salt baths and pea feedings and fastings) aeration is good, multiple bubblers going and I have a good filter! I also hand feed her repashy soilent green gel food twice a day!

I'm too late but I am looking at water chillers now. I dont think that would help much in making things better...it would only prevent things from getting worse. At a loss really so I don't mind paying for the vet visit or an operation if people recommend it. I literally just got her and I love this fish so much I would do anything to help her live a long life. Thank you so much for reading and I appreciate any help you can give! Peace!
