One of my little dudes started to float upside a few days ago, I’m thinking its a swim bladder issue, but have no idea how to fix it, thoughts?

Squad

The maintenance on my old filters was painfully difficult so I built a new one for my goldies that’s also large enough to go with them when I eventually get them a much larger tank with more friends.

He’s camera shy. But when he’s not, he’s meme material.

I’ve wanted a black moor for years. I’m hoping to finally get one.

IveI've wanted a black moor for years. ImI'm hoping to get one now. Thoughts?

I've never kept a goldfish before but I've love black moors for years. I have two tanks that technically can house a single black moor. Which one, if either, would be a better fit for a single black moor?

55 gallon aquarium, 20 corydoras (bronze, albino, emerald- all larger cories and the Goldie won't be added until they're all fully grown), pool filter sand substrate, aqua clear 110 and a large sponge filter from aquarium co-op, ~74°F.

29 gallon aquarium, still thinking about substrate but probably either large smooth stones or bare bottom with a couple larger stones, fluval 205 canister filter and a medium sponge filter from aquarium co-op, 68°.

Saturday is water change day and I test all my tanks and change an appropriate amount of water based on results. If any parameter is particularly off I will do twice weekly water changes until it's under control. I've done a lot of research on my own but there's no general consensus on whether these are acceptable for a Goldie. If they're not acceptable I'm unable to get a different tank so I'll have to forego the goldfish but I am very interested in knowing why not.

I've heard reasons to keep or not keep a goldfish in both of these aquariums. I figured you guys could be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Help

Posted: 19 Jul 2020 06:19 PM PDT

When I was little (2 or 3 years old) my dad got me a 15 gallon tall tank and added 3 goldfish ever since I grew up and did some research I knew this was wrong and asked my dad for a bigger tank or a outdoor pond and he finally budged but said the max size could be 3 feet long×1 feet wide×16 inches deep.I know it isn't the best but is the best I can do for my 3 feeder goldfish if it isn't big enough I will try to ask for something bigger

My goldfish keep bumping up against each other. It could be mating season, but I don't know how to tell either of their sexes, so it might not be. Any good tips to tell the sex of a goldfish?

Has anyone had success treating fin rot orally with antibiotics? My hospital tank is being decontaminated at the moment and I only have limited Kanplex on hand.

Tank decor question

Posted: 19 Jul 2020 04:47 PM PDT

I've been wanting to go bare floor for a while and wondered about tiny terracotta pots to put plants in, has anyone tried this?

Terracotta is quite porous and I wonder if this could pose a problem

Dead Goldfish

Posted: 19 Jul 2020 02:22 AM PDT

This is my first time posting, but I couldnt find advice anywhere else. For my birthday I got 4 baby ranchus from king koi goldfish. I was super excited to have them and they were adorable. I cycled my tank for a month before getting them and got the water tested before I put them in. Since then I have been testing the water and the conditions are good, doing a 20% water change every other day. After having them for two weeks, my one ranchu died (a week ago), and I was really upset, but thought it might have had something wrong with it. All of the other fish were doing great and none of them acted strange or had any symptoms. Now today another fish died. Im really heartbroken over this. Earlier today, before I went over to my friends house I was talking with my dad about how cute my fish were, after I was gone for about 3 hours he was dead. The remaining 2 fish seem to be healthy. Both of the fish that died arrived in the same bag. I'd love for any guesses/advice.
