Why does my goldfish swim sideways a lot? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 12:14 AM PDT For some context: A few hours ago, my family and I bought three goldfish. When we arrived home, we noticed that one of them seemed to be pooping a lot and was sometimes swimming sideways or even upside down. Is there any reason for this? I'll provide a photo later on (I'm on mobile right now) if that helps anything. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Jul 2020 11:18 PM PDT Hello, fellow fish keepers! I was wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for goldfish breeders. I'm mostly interested in Butterfly Telescopes and Orandas. If possible i'd love it if they were on the less expensive side of the spectrum, i have a smaller budget but i want good quality, beautiful fish. i'm willing to get babies and grow them out as well. Thank you so much! [link] [comments]

Snails or shrimp to help clean? Posted: 04 Jul 2020 02:03 PM PDT I used to have a pleco in the tank. It never felt like he did much, but ever since he died, the tank gets much dirtier much faster. I have since learned that plecos are not good tank mates for goldfish, but I would like to get something to help keep the tank clean. Are snails or shrimp a good option? [link] [comments]
What ornaments should I put in my aquarium? Posted: 04 Jul 2020 11:35 AM PDT Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the whole aquarium/fish business and just wondered if I could get a bit of advice. I have two fish - a black Moor and a fantail who I've just recently moved into a new 60 litre tank. I've had them for almost a year but this is my first time investing in a decent (and actually suitable) tank. I'm just wondering what sort of decorations should I put in with them? I know black moors need a lot of swimming space so I don't want to over pack the aquarium, but I also would like maybe somewhere for them to hide out? Currently there's a few rocks, some live plants, and one tiny ornament in there. The plants are just some Canadian water weed which the fantail has uprooted at every available opportunity. Any advice? [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Jul 2020 10:03 AM PDT I have a comet goldfish that bought on a whim and that maybe wasnt the best idea but im 100% ready to put in the work and I love him to absolute bits! At the moment he's in a 10ish gallon tank (maybe a bit under). Atm I don't see this as being a big problem as he's still small and I plan to get a bigger tank soon. I've read plenty saying he needs 40gallons but I've not got the budget or space for that. He has very good filter and some water wisteria recently started growing. I've had some people tell me that if I'm able to keep a good clean tank with water changes etc, he should be fine in 15 gallons. I would want to get him 20 but I can't see that happening rn. He's the only one in there atm but I would also ideally like to introduce a few cloud minnows to give him some company, or at least cherry shrimp once I get some good plant-life going. He looks very healthy- he eats well, he's very friendly and active. so I don't think I'm doing anything too wrong (there's definitely things I'll get better with). Thoughts? [link] [comments]
