Will a heater help my crayfish molt?

My electric blue crayfish first showed sign of molting (lifted carapace) on the 23rd, and now it's the 26th and there is progress, but considering the time period, I would say he is molting very slowly... is this normal? I hear people say that the molting progress is super fast (around 10mins), is that when they lay down, or does that include when their carapace first lifts up?

I was wondering if I put his tank water a a constant level of a warmer temperature, would that help and if so, what temperature should I do?

He is still very active and more defensive now and only just stopped eating last night. Any thoughts?
